Butyrate (or butyric acid) is a short chain fatty acid produced by gut microbes through fermentation of dietary fibers. It is also present in mother’s milk. This postbiotic plays an important role in shaping the immune system, as well as exerting beneficial effects on digestive health and potentially brain. Until now, the use of butyrate in nutritional applications has been limited by its pungent odor. Our new butyrate-delivery compound, FBA, has no odor and overcomes the limitations of incorporating butyrate in your nutritional products.
